In 1972, AMC shortened the Jeepster name from their Commando line, opting for the shorter Jeep Commando title instead. This incarnation of the Commando extended the wheelbase to 104", and swapped out the front-end design to receive the AMC I6 and V8 304ci. The new AMC design echoed the Ford Bronco, and Jeep would move away from the Commando design completely after 1973. Around 21,000 AMC-spec "C104" Jeep (Bullnose) Commandos were produced in 1972 and 1973.

This gorgeous '73 AMC Commando was quite a unique Jeep to see in the wild. I originally encountered this classic at a town-center car show in Acworth, Georgia. There, I met Tony, the Jeep's owner, and I began learning about the Commando's history.

This numbered Commando has lived its entire road-life in the state of Georgia. A two-owner survivor, this beauty was acquired by Tony after the original owner passed away.

Many hours went into reviving the Commando to its once shimmering glory. Amid the restoration work, the original 304 was completely rebuilt; it only had 64k original miles when found. This AMC also has WARN locking hubs, a custom bluetooth sound-bar; two 10" JBL subs in a Jeep-Jammer box; and custom-cut rubber floor mating.

Adventure-ready with a safari-roof, molle webbed seats & trail-ready tools, this Jeep also features a real-wood steering wheel, for authentic nostalgia feel!

Over the last couple of years we've been fortunate to spend a lot of time with this wonderful piece of Jeep history. We love showing out and showing this one off!

This fantastic color is AMC's factory 'Avocado Mist', and it certainly is a head-turner! We'd love to take this old 'bullnose' for a spin on the beach... wouldn't you? 🏄♂️
